The curtain has come down on another entertaining season of West District Division 3 hockey, with dominant champions, impressive debut campaigns and a tightly contested battle throughout the division.

Clydesdale 5th XI March to the Title

There was no stopping Clydesdale 5th XI, who completed a flawless league campaign to secure the Division 3 title and promotion.

An incredible record of 18 wins from 18 matches, alongside 117 goals scored, underlined just how dominant the Titwood side were throughout the season.

Leading the way in front of goal was Finlay Dunlop, whose 29 league goals saw him finish as the division’s top scorer. Among the standout moments of the season were emphatic 10–0 victories over both Hillhead 7th XI and Hillhead 8th XI, performances that perfectly summed up Clydesdale’s attacking quality.

Rottenrow’s Remarkable Debut Season

It was also a memorable campaign for Rottenrow 3rd XI, whose inaugural season ended with a superb promotion to Division 2 after finishing runners-up.

Their campaign began with a narrow 1–0 win over Helensburgh 2nd XI, and from there the side steadily built momentum. An outstanding unbeaten run stretching from 6th December through to the end of the season ultimately secured promotion and capped off a hugely successful first year in the leagues.

Strong Campaigns Across the Division

Hillhead 8th XI claimed third place after a consistent season, with Ollie Hamilton finishing second in the division scoring charts after an impressive goalscoring campaign.

Uddingston 5th XI secured fourth place, while Clydesdale 6th XI enjoyed a strong debut season of their own, finishing fifth and establishing themselves well within the division.

Giffnock 2nd XI finished sixth, with Anchor, Helensburgh 2nd XI, Hillhead 7th XI and Dumfries 2nd XI rounding out the standings in seventh through tenth respectively.

Despite finishing bottom, Dumfries 2nd XI continued to battle throughout the campaign and earned a memorable first victory late in the season — a reward for their perseverance and commitment.

Another Competitive Season

From title-winning perfection to promotion success and developing new sides, Division 3 once again showcased the depth and enthusiasm of hockey across the West District.

With new rivalries formed and teams continuing to grow, attention will soon turn towards next season and what promises to be another exciting year of district hockey.
