July sees members of WDUA head off to various parts of Europe to officiate in a wide variety of events. First up we have two officials heading off to Alanya in Turkiye for the EuroHockey 5’s Champioship for boys and girls under 16. John Heron will be the Umpires Manager at the event with Tahirah Yousaf one of our Honorary Westies, umpiring. The teams competing in the boys event are Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Poland, Switzerland, Turkiye and Ukraine with Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Poland, Switzerland, Turkiye and Ukraine participating in the girls event. We also have Scott Baird travelling to Kutaioi in Georgia for the EuroHockey 5’s Championship II for boys and girls U16 where the competing boys teams are Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Luxembourg and Russia with Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Russia and Slovakia competing in the girls event, All competitions run from 1st to 4th July and we wish John, Tahirah and Scott safe travels and great tournaments.
