Another weekend is upon us and there is plenty of hockey to be watched in the West District.

The big match in division one sees unbeaten Western 3rd XI take on challengers Clydesdale 3rd XI. The sides sit first and third respectively and will both be keen on three points in this massive match. Clydesdale will need to be at their best, however, as Western remain unbeaten this season and don’t look like slowing down any time soon. The other big match see’s Rottenrow travel to Giffnock. The two sides are in second and fourth, however they are tied on ten points, with only goal difference separating them. The bottom four all face each other as well, with winless Kelburne 3rd XI hosting Clydesdale 4th XI and Glasgow University 3rd XI going to Hillhead 5th XI. The other match see’s Helensburgh travel to Hillhead 4th XI on Friday night.

Rottenrow 2nd XI have been the surprise package at the start of this division two and sit at the top of the pile. They travel to Ayr on Saturday, who are winless so far this season. Rottenrow will be hoping to take all three points back to Glasgow and maintain top spot in division two. GHK are back in action after defeat last time out, a couple of weeks ago. They will be looking to get back on track with a win against Greenock 2nd XI, who travel to Old Anniesland. Uddingston 3rd XI will be keen to keep their unbeaten start going, with a match against Hillhead 6th XI. Elsewhere, Kelburne 4th XI host Strathclyde University 2nd XI and Western 4th XI travel down to Dumfries.

A full fixture card in division three see’s challengers Clydesdale 5th XI back in action. They haven’t played since mid-October and will be wanting to continue their unbeaten start with a win over Hillhead 8th XI. Currently holding top spot is Uddingston 5th XI, and they play on Sunday against Hillhead 7th XI. It could be a tough weekend for Hillhead, as they play Saturday as well, hosting Rottenrow 3rd XI, who will be looking to get back to winning ways after their first loss of the season last week. Helensburgh 2nd XI travel to Giffnock 2nd XI in what should be a competitive match. And the final game see’s Clydesdale 6th XI welcome Dumfries 2nd XI to Titwood.
