Big wins at the top of divisions one and two.

Division one had a cracking top of the table clash between Western 3rd XI and Clydesdale 3rd XI. The winner of this match is likely to go on and claim the title and it was Western who came out on top. They took a narrow 2-1 lead into half time, managing to see the game to win 4-3. A double for Adam Carmichael cancelled out a Greg Bond goal to move Helensburgh above Giffnock in the league standings. The Hillhead derby also ended 2-1 with the 3rd XI defeating the 4th XI. Rottenrow had a narrow win over Western 4th XI, only managing the 1-0 victory, and Kelburne 3rd XI overcame Uddingston 3rd XI 4-3.

 

In division two, Clydesdale 4th XI jumped above GHK to third place after defeating them 2-1 in an exciting game. Hillhead 5B defeated Rottenrow 4-0 to remain top, but only on goal difference, as Glasgow University 3rd XI won an impressive 9-3 against Uddingston 4th XI. Dumfries stormed to a 3-0 first half win over Greenock 2nd XI, with the game finishing 4-1 to Dumfries. Ryan Johnson, Max McFarlane and a Ross Carson double helped seal the three points for Dumfries. Captain Barry Reid got a double for Ayr to help them eke out a 3-2 win over Hillhead 5A in the final match of the division.

 

Hillhead 6th XI stole the headlines in division 3. They had an impressive 8-0 win over Anchor, moving them into second place in the division, above Anchor. The other match in the division saw Western 5th XI put some distance between themselves and the relegation spot occupied by their opponents Uddingston 5th XI. They won 3-0.

 

 

 

The Dumfries derby was a spectacle for all at the club, in division four, as Dumfries 2nd XI defeated the 3rd XI by three goals. Three separate goal scorers for Dumfries with Logan Drysdale-Mills, Gary Tupper and Ryan Mills all on the scoresheet. Top scorer in the division Finlay Dunlop added to his tally for Clydesdale 5th XI with another two goals, taking him to sixteen. His two goals helped Clydesdale overcome Giffnock 2nd XI 5-2 to keep Clydesdale confidently at the top of the division.
