With the 1st of March upon us, we really are into the business end of the season now!

There’s a massive game in division one, which could be a title decider! Western 3rd XI are hosting Clydesdale 3rd XI, with the winner having one hand on the trophy. One point separates the two sides, with Clydesdale having a game in hand. The match earlier in the season finished 4-2 to Clydesdale but Western haven’t lost since then, being unbeaten in eight. The match is at Auchenhowie, with an 11:00 pushback! There’s an all club derby too, in the division this weekend, with Hillhead 4th XI hosting Hillhead 3rd XI, and the two teams both sit on nineteen points. The bragging rights will be whats really at stake here, though. Elsewhere, Kelburne 3rd XI host Uddingston 3rd XI; Western 4th XI go to Rottenrow; and the two top scorers in the league, Andrew Barnett, and Adam Carmichael, come head-to-head in Helensburgh as Helensburgh host Giffnock.

There’s also a huge game at the top of division two. GHK had a mid-week game vs. Hillhead that ended their unbeaten run and knocked them off first place in the division. They travel to Clydesdale 4th XI, who sit in third place. The two teams are evenly matched, with a 2-2 draw in the earlier fixture. Hillhead 5B will be hoping to maintain top spot with a game away to Rottenrow 2nd XI. The other title challengers, Glasgow University 3rd XI are hosting Uddingston 4th XI. Elsewhere, Greenock 2nd XI are at home to Dumfries, and Ayr host Hillhead 5A.

The big matches keep on coming with division three no different. First take on third as Kelburne 4th XI host Strathclyde University 2nd XI. Kelburne look set for the title, but Strathclyde will be keen to upset the apple cart in this match. Anchor are well in the promotion race and they host Hillhead 6th XI tomorrow. The final game sees Uddingston 5th XI travel to Western 5th XI.

Only the two games in division four this weekend with first placed Clydesdale 5th XI taking on second placed Giffnock 2nd XI. However, Clydesdale unbeaten run makes them favourites for this one. The other match is the hotly anticipated Dumfries derby, as the 2nd and 3rd XI’s from Dumfries play each other in what will surely be an exciting match.
