Another round of fixtures are consigned to the record book as we head into November!

It’s all change at the top of division one. League leaders going into the weekend, Helensburgh, had a close encounter away at Giffnock. Adam Carmichael continued his scoring form for Helensburgh, leading the district scoring charts, but it wasn’t enough as Giffnock fought from 3-2 down to win 4-3. This paved the way for Clydesdale 3rd XI to move top of the table after an impressive victory over Western 3rd XI. A Kallum Dhami brace helped see Clydesdale move top. Rottenrow also moved above Helensburgh with a decisive victory over winless Western 4th XI. Elsewhere, Hillhead 3rd XI unsurprisingly overcame their 4th XI in the all Hillhead clash, and Kelburne 3rd took home all three points from Uddingston after a 4-1 defeat of Uddingston 3rd XI.

It’s close at the top of division two, with only two points between first and fifth place. Clydesdale 4th XI remain unbeaten, after drawing away at GHK – who also remain unbeaten. However, it was Ayr who had an impressive 7-0 victory to extend their unbeaten run. They’ve moved joint on point with Clydesdale but the 7-0 victory over Hillhead 5A sees them move top of goal difference. Two hat-tricks, one from Andy Bell and one from Aston Kerr, helped secure Ayr all three points. There were also big wins for Hillhead 5B and Glasgow University 3rd XI. Hillhead overcame Rottenrow 2nd XI, with Graeme Etheridge extending his lead at the top of the division scoring charts, scoring four goals! Glasgow University had a comfortable 7-1 victory over Uddingston 4th XI. The other game in division two saw Dumfries defeat Greenock 2nd XI in a close 3-2 game.

Kelburne 4th XI remained at the top of division three after victory at the weekend. They defeated winless Uddingston 5th XI 7-3 in a topsy-turvy game. Anchor also continued their push for promotion with a demolition of Helensburgh 2nd XI. They were helped by an early red card to a Helensburgh player and ended up running out 8-0 winners. It had been a slow start to the season for last season’s division three champions Hillhead 6th XI, but they got things going in style, on Saturday, with a 5-0 victory over Western 5th XI.

Only the two games in division four, and one of them ended in a rare 0-0 draw, as Dumfries 2nd XI came away from Glasgow with a point after drawing with Hillhead 8th XI. The other match in division also ended even, as both Giffnock 2nd XI and Hillhead 7th XI could not be separated. That match finished 2-2.
