It’s Valentine’s weekend in the West District — and while some will be out for dinner dates, others will be falling in love with three points. With a reduced fixture card, every match carries extra meaning… and maybe a little heartbreak too

Division 1 – Second Dates & Settling Scores

There’s just one game in Division 1, but it’s a good one.
Helensburgh host Glasgow University 3rd XI in a repeat of last weekend’s 2–2 draw. After sharing the points, both sides will be desperate to steal the result this time around.

Last week’s meeting was all about drama and late twists — expect another emotional encounter as these two look to turn flirtation into full commitment with a win

Division 2 – Love at the Top of the Table

With leaders Uddingston 3rd XI not in action, the door is open for GHK to go top — and they’ll be hoping it’s love at first sight when they host Kelburne 4th XI at the ON-X.

Elsewhere, Greenock 2nd XI welcome Dumfries in a classic mid-table date — both sides eyeing a result they can really fall for.

Hillhead 6th XI will be hoping to rekindle some form as they travel to Millerston to face Strathclyde University 2nd XI, looking to turn recent frustration into a happy ending.

Division 3 – From Top to Bottom (and Everything in Between)

It’s top meets bottom at Titwood, where league leaders Clydesdale 5th XI host Dumfries 2nd XI — on paper a mismatch, but in hockey you never know when sparks might fly.

With Hillhead 8th XI not playing, Rottenrow 3rd XI will be keen to keep hold of second place as they entertain Helensburgh 2nd XI — a fixture with big table implications and plenty of pressure.

Elsewhere, Hillhead 7th XI host Anchor, while Giffnock 2nd XI return to action at Eastwood High School (15:00 pushback) against Clydesdale 6th XI in what promises to be another closely fought affair.

Whether you’re chasing promotion, avoiding heartbreak, or just looking for a match to fall in love with — there’s still plenty of drama in the West this Valentine’s weekend
