After last weekend’s full fixture card fell victim to the cold weather, hockey finally returns across the West District. With plenty of rearranged anticipation and fresh legs, several divisions now feature key matchups that could shape the tables moving into the next phase of the season.

Division 1

Action begins at Hermitage Academy (12:00) where Helensburgh host Giffnock. Just a single point separates the mid-table sides, making this an important opportunity for either team to create breathing room.

League leaders Western 3rd XI face a tricky away tie against Hillhead 5th XI, who will be hoping to become the first side this season to take points off the unbeaten table toppers.

At Titwood, Hillhead 4th XI visit Clydesdale 4th XI in a meeting of teams at opposite ends of the standings, with vital points on the line for both campaigns.

Elsewhere, Rottenrow host Clydesdale 3rd XI, while Glasgow University 3rd XI travel to Kelburne 3rd XI.

Division 2

The standout fixture of the weekend comes at Old Anniesland (12:30) where GHK take on Uddingston 3rd XI. Between them, the sides have lost only once this season — in the reverse fixture when Uddingston edged the result — and the outcome could have major implications for the title race.

Kelburne 4th XI welcome Uddingston 4th XI at the ON-X, while Greenock 2nd XI travel to Rottenrow 2nd XI in what could prove a decisive mid-table encounter.

Western 4th XI face Hillhead 6th XI at Auchenhowie, and Dumfries make the trip to Millerston to play Strathclyde University 2nd XI.

Division 3

Division 3 begins with Clydesdale 6th XI hosting Hillhead 7th XI (12:00), the visitors arriving in good form after back-to-back wins.

At Hermitage Academy, Helensburgh 2nd XI face a major test against unbeaten leaders Clydesdale 5th XI, who will be looking to continue their dominant run.

A key battle for second place takes place at Balgray (14:30) as Hillhead 8th XI host Rottenrow 3rd XI. The teams are level on points and goal difference, separated only by goals scored — making this one of the tightest matchups of the weekend.

Uddingston 5th XI host Anchor, while Sunday sees Clydesdale 5th XI back in action again against Giffnock 2nd XI at Titwood.
