A busy weekend across the West District saw crucial points picked up at both ends of the tables, with several tight encounters and plenty of impact on the relegation and promotion battles.
Division 1 – Bottom Four All on the Board
It was a huge weekend at the foot of Division 1, with all four of the bottom sides picking up points.
• Kelburne 3rd XI edged past Clydesdale 3rd XI 2–1
• Clydesdale 4th XI earned a big 5–3 away win at Giffnock
• The Hillhead derby between the 4th XI and 5th XI ended 1–1
• Glasgow University 3rd XI drew 2–2 with Helensburgh
At the top end, Western 3rd XI continued their strong form with a win over Rottenrow, keeping their momentum going.
Division 2 – Leaders Held, Mid-Table Tightens
Division 2 saw the first dropped points of the season for Uddingston 3rd XI, who were held to a 2–2 draw away at Greenock 2nd XI.
Elsewhere:
• Western 4th XI picked up a vital 4–3 win over Ayr
• GHK defeated Strathclyde University 2nd XI 2–0
• Kelburne 4th XI and Rottenrow 2nd XI shared the points in a 2–2 draw
• Uddingston 4th XI impressed with a 4–0 win over Hillhead 6th XI
Division 3 – Leaders Stay Strong
The top sides in Division 3 continued to show their class.
• Clydesdale 5th XI beat Uddingston 5th XI 4–0
• Clydesdale 6th XI defeated Helensburgh 2nd XI 3–1
• Hillhead 7th XI won 2–1 away at Dumfries 2nd XI
• Hillhead 8th XI recorded a 4–1 win over Anchor
