It’s the penultimate weekend of league hockey for divisions one and two.

Hillhead 3rd XI are the only team outside the top two, in division one, that could still mathematically win the district, but they’ll have to overcome Western 3rd XI tonight if they want to keep that dream alive. The two sides meet at Auchenhowie tonight for a game under the lights. Clydesdale 3rd XI will be keen to keep the pressure on Western and they take on already relegated Western 4th XI at Auchenhowie. With the pressure off Western, they could pull off an upset here, but Clydesdale look set to take three points. Uddingston 3rd XI had a big win last week to give them hope of survival, but they will have a big task overcoming Hillhead 4th XI, at the High School of Glasgow. The two sides have yet to play one another as the first was frozen off, so it could be an interesting game. Elsewhere, third placed Rottenrow host Helensburgh, whilst Giffnock travel to Kelburne 3rd XI.

Division two has new leaders after Glasgow University 3rd XI overcame GHK in a midweek tie. The two sides meet again this weekend, with the students keen to maintain their form. They sit top of the division but have played more games than all below them. Clydesdale 4th XI are one of the chasing pack, and will be hoping to secure three points at home to Ayr tomorrow. Hillhead 5B will need to watch out for complacency as they take on bottom side Uddingston 4th XI. However, with top striker Graeme Etheridge in the team, they will be hoping to continue their winning ways. The other matches see Rottenrow 2nd XI host Dumfries and Hillhead 5A welcome Greenock 2nd XI to Glasgow.

Only two matches in division three, as Uddingston 5th XI host Hillhead 6th XI. Uddingston will know that time is running out on maintaining division three status and a win tomorrow would go a long way in helping that cause. Hillhead are in a good run of form however, with five wins in a row and so will be a difficult task to overcome. Helensburgh 2nd XI host Western 5th XI in a mid-table clash. The two sides will be cautiously looking over their shoulder for Uddingston picking up points but will feel relatively safe with the points gap so far.

Division four is all about pride now for the teams still playing after Clydesdale 5th XI ran away with the league. Second placed Giffnock 2nd XI have the long trip down to Dumfries to play Dumfries 2nd XI, whilst Dumfries 3rd XI go the other way, heading to Hillhead 8th XI. Helensburgh 3rd XI host Hillhead 7th XI.
