There were plenty of tricks and treats across the West District on Halloween, with goals flying in, league leaders taking a tumble and one or two frightening scorelines lighting up the results sheet.
Division 1 saw a surprise defeat for the league leaders, Division 2 served up a major upset at the top, while Division 3 delivered a 13-goal thriller — although there was only one team doing the scoring!
Division 1: Leaders suffer a Halloween scare

The biggest shock of the day came at Titwood, where Uddingston 3rd XI stunned league leaders Clydesdale 3rd XI with a 2–1 victory. Clydesdale had looked almost untouchable in the opening weeks, but Uddingston brought their unbeaten run to an end and handed the chasing pack a timely boost.
Western 3rd XI were in ruthless form, hitting six past Hillhead 4th XI in a 6–3 away win to keep themselves firmly in the hunt near the top of the table.
Hillhead 5th XI and Giffnock shared the points in an entertaining 2–2 draw, while the fixture between Kelburne 2nd XI and Greenock saw Greenock move to the top of the table with a 4-0 win.
With the leaders finally showing signs of vulnerability, the Division 1 title race could be about to get a little more interesting.
Division 2: Dumfries deliver the biggest fright

There was a major Halloween surprise in Division 2 as Dumfries defeated league leaders Kelburne 3rd XI by three goals to nil. A clean sheet and three valuable points make this a result that could have a significant impact on the title race.
GHK also enjoyed a successful afternoon, edging Rottenrow 2nd XI 4–3 in a seven-goal thriller. Rottenrow 3rd XI claimed a narrower victory, beating Hillhead 6th XI 1–0.
There was little to separate Ayr and Uddingston 4th XI, who shared the spoils in a 4–4 draw, while Western 4th XI and Glasgow University 3rd XI also played out a stalemate, finishing 1–1.
Kelburne’s defeat opens the door for the chasing sides, with GHK among those who will be hoping to take advantage.
Division 3: Uddingston unleash a goal-scoring monster

If there was one result that truly belonged in a Halloween horror story, it came from Uddingston 5th XI, who produced a staggering 13–0 victory over Dumfries 2nd XI.
Strathclyde University 2nd XI were also in free-scoring form, beating Giffnock 2nd XI 9–3 in another high-scoring encounter.
At the other end of the scale, Clydesdale 6th XI edged a tight contest against Hillhead 8th XI, taking a 1–0 victory, while Greenock 2nd XI came away from Hillhead 7th XI with a 2–1 win.
No tricks, just sticks!
Halloween certainly delivered its share of surprises across the West District. Clydesdale 3rd XI and Kelburne 3rd XI both found themselves on the wrong end of unexpected defeats, while Uddingston 5th XI and Strathclyde University 2md XI helped themselves to a remarkable 22 goals between them.
As the season moves into November, the league tables are beginning to take shape — but if Saturday has taught us anything, it’s that there are still plenty of surprises lurking around the corner.
