There were big wins at the top of division one for two of the top three. Clydesdale 3rd XI had a big 7-1 win over Kelburne 3rd XI to keep the title challenge alive, whilst Rottenrow overcame Uddingston 3rd XI 9-2. The defeat for Uddingston 3rd XI puts them a step closer to the dreaded relegation. Elsewhere, a late Adam Carmichael goal earned Helensburgh a point away at Hillhead 3rd XI, whilst Giffnock and Hillhead 4th XI also shared the points at Eastwood High School.

 

In division two, GHK earned an important point in there push for promotion. After a 5-2 defeat at the hands of Hillhead 5B, a couple of weeks ago, they managed a credible 2-2 draw against the same opponent on Saturday. Clydesdale 4th XI returned to the top of the table after an incredibly close game vs. Glasgow University 3rd XI. A 1-0 victory was enough for the three points which sees them return to first place. Rottenrow 2nd XI had an important win over relegation rivals Hillhead 5A, who sit in bottom place. The score finished 4-1 and moves Rottenrow away from those dreaded drop zones. Elsewhere, Uddingston 4th XI are in the other of those relegation spots after a 4-1 defeat to Dumfries.

 

Only one game took place in division three and it was an emphatic 6-0 win for Strathclyde University 2nd  XI and keeps them well within the hunt for the second promotion spot out of the division. They also have three games in hand over second placed Anchor.

 

There was a goal fest in Dumfries at the weekend, in division four. Iain Callander got a hat-trick for Dumfries 3rd XI, but it wasn’t enough as the 2nd XI defeated the 3rd XI 5-4. Gary Tuppers hat-trick for the 2nd XI, coupled with an Adam Kerr, and a Joshua Campbell goal saw the 2nd XI win the three points. Clydesdale 5th XI all but confirmed themselves as division champions with there defeat of Hillhead 7th XI. The game finished 8-2. Giffnock 2nd XI had a heavy win over Dumfries 3rd XI on Sunday. 10-3 was the final score in that match.
