The ‘local’ derby match between Dumfries and Ayr takes place in division 2 this weekend. Ayr remain unbeaten but have only won once this season and will be hoping to pick up the three points at Dumfries. Dumfries have home advantage though and will be keen on building on the last games victory. Clydesdale 4th XI sit top of the table and are also unbeaten. Helensburgh 2nd XI are back in action after nearly a month without hockey. They are heading to Auchenhowie to take on promoted side Western 5th XI. Western have had a decent start to the season with a win, a draw, and a loss, but will be keen to put a marker on the league with three points at home. Anchor are hosting Strathclyde University 2nd XI, a game which threw up a couple of big results last season – Anchor won the most recent an astonishing 9-0. The other game in division three sees Hillhead 6th XI take on Uddingston 5th XI.

Division four has three games to offer, with Hillhead 7th XI hosting Helensburgh 3rd XI. Helensburgh are in good form and will be looking to secure three more points as they sit near the top of the table. Hillhead 8th XI have the long trip down to Dumfries, as they play Dumfries 3rd XI. The two sides are still in their first season of league hockey, so it could be interesting game.
