It was business as usual for most teams in the district, as another weekend is chalked off to record books.

In division one, Uddingston 3rd XI broke their winless run with an impressive 4-2 win over Helensburgh. The home side hadn’t won in seven games but came back from 2-1 won to take the three points. Clydesdale 3rd XI had to overcome a tricky Hillhead 3rd XI team, with tempers clearly flaring during the match and cards being shown. It was 1-1 at half time, but Clydesdale managed to win 3-2 in the end. Giffnock had an impressive win over Western 4th XI to move up to sixth. Andrew Barnett got a double to move him top of the scoring charts, helping Giffnock to the win. Elsewhere, Western 3rd XI kept the pressure on top spot with a 6-2 win over Rottenrow, and Hillhead 4th XI defeated Kelburne 3rd XI 4-0.

All three teams at the top of division two had victories on Saturday. GHK had an impressive 5-1 win over Ayr, whilst Glasgow University 3rd XI managed a 4-0 win over Hillhead 5A. Clydesdale 4th XI defeated Rottenrow 2nd XI 4-0. Hillhead 5B overtook Dumfries in the league table, after defeating them 3-1 at the High School of Glasgow. Graeme Etheridge was of course on the score sheet for Hillhead, alongside Cian Thomson and David Meikle. The other match saw bottom side Greenock 2nd XI pick up a well-deserved win as they overcame Uddingston 4th XI 3-2.

Helensburgh 2nd XI had an impressive win over Anchor, in division three on Saturday. The two sides met for the second time this season after Anchors 8-0 drubbing of Helensburgh earlier in the season, but Helensburgh seemed to be a much-improved side, with three goals to Anchors one. It moves Helensburgh up to third in the table, ahead of Anchor. The other match in division three saw Hillhead 6th XI defeat Western 5th XI 2-0, with Richard Wadsworth and Remi Zante on the scoresheet for Hillhead.

It was honours even in Dumfries in division four, as Dumfries 2nd XI and Hillhead 8th XI shared the points with a 1-1 draw. Giffnock 2nd XI had a comfortable 4-0 win over Hillhead 7th XI.
