In honour of the mans birthday ‘Aye, if the weather bides fair, mayhap we’ll hae some hockey tae play the day. Let’s tak a keek at whit the fates hae in store!’

In division one, league leaders Clydesdale 3rd XI sit three points ahead of Rottenrow in second place. They host Giffnock whilst Rottenrow have already played and lost ground on the top side. They lost 4-1 to a strong Hillhead 4th XI last weekend. Western 3rd XI welcome Kelburne 3rd XI to Auchenhowie, with Kelburne already having taken points off Western this season, Western will be looking to seal all three points. Adam Carmichael is sitting top of the division goalscoring charts and will be hoping to keep it up for Helensburgh as they take on bottom side Western 4th XI.

In the second division, there is only three points between the top four. Top side Clydesdale 4th XI should keep at the top as they face bottom side Greenock 2nd XI but the game did finish in a tie earlier in the season. Dumfries lie in second spot and they travel to GHK, a game which also ended in a draw in the earlier half of the season. Elsewhere, Glasgow University 3rd XI host Hillhead 5B, whilst Rottenrow 2nd XI travel down to Ayr.

Kelburne 4th XI are sitting fairly comfortably at the top of division three but nothing can be taken for granted at this stage in the season. They will have to overcome Western 5th XI at the new ON-X pitch. Strathclyde University 2nd XI are hoping to keep the pressure on top spot, and they host Hillhead 6th XI tomorrow. Strathclyde won the earlier encounter between the two sides. The other match in division has bottom side Uddingston 5th XI welcoming Helensburgh 2nd XI through to Uddingston.

In division four, Clydesdale 5th XI lead the table. They had an important win over second placed Helensburgh 3rd XI last week and moved nine points clear! They take on Hillhead 8th XI in a fixture that was tightly contested earlier in the season. Top goalscorer Finlay Dunlop will hope he has his shooting stick with him, hoping to add to his fourteen goals for the season. Elsewhere, Hillhead 7th XI have the long trip down to play Dumfries 2nd XI, whilst Giffnock 2nd XI host Dumfries 3rd XI.
