The West District, as with most of the west, was majorly disrupted by the heavy rainfall on Saturday. Let’s have a look at some of the results that did happen.

The only game to take place in division 1 was played under difficult conditions at Eastwood High School. Giffnock were held to a 5 – 5 draw against Rottenrow. Both sides were confident going into the match, which turned out to be an excellent display of attacking hockey – wonderful viewing for the neutrals, if any braved the weather to come and watch. It was a superb effort from both sides, with Rottenrows Tom Edwards bagging a hattrick in the process.

In division 2, there was a sole surviving game which saw Clydesdale 4th XI take on Western 4th XI at Titwood. Another excellent game on display as it ended in a 3 – 3 draw.

Division 3 failed to beat the weather, but two games went ahead in division 4. Giffnock 2nd XI played out a 1 – 1 draw with Clydesdale 5th XI, whilst Western 5th XI made the trip to Dumfries, bringing back all three points with a 6 – 1 victory over Dumfries 2nd XI.
