Congratulations to both Kelburne 3rd XI and Clydesdale 5th XI on winning their respective divisions.

Western 3rd XI placed one had on the John S. Dick trophy this weekend, with an impressive 6-2 victory over Helensburgh, in division one. A hat-trick from Scott McCartney helped them get on their way as Helensburgh sunk into the relegation spots. Hillhead 3rd XI had a massive victory over Uddingston 3rd XI. The 15-1 scoreline is the biggest seen this season and it moves Hillhead into second position. They overtake Rottenrow, who fell to a Hillhead 4th defeat. Goals from Josh Arthy and Ian Holland were cancelled out by Jonny Duke, Cal Rowley, and Andy Macey, to give Hillhead the 3-2 victory. It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Uddingston 3rd XI, as they managed to gain a vital point on Sunday with a 2-2 draw against Hillhead 4th XI, to move them out of the relegation spots. Elsewhere, GHK lost to Giffnock 3-2 and Clydesdale 3rd XI beat Dumfries 3-0.

The big news of the weekend comes from Division two, as Kelburne 3rd XI take home the league trophy after a 7-2 defeat of Rottenrow.

Kelburne were relegated last season but have bounced straight back up at the first time of asking. The Paisley side have only lost twice this season and currently sit ten points clear with a couple games left. The other relegated side from last season, Glasgow University 3rd XI, put a massive stamp on their drive for promotion as they thrashed bottom side Helensburgh 2nd XI 11-2. The Uni. students still have an outside chance of promotion, and this victory will go a long way in helping see that through. The other game saw Clydesdale 4th XI defeat Uddingston 4th XI.

Two catch up games in Division three took place, with Anchor gaining an impressive 4-3 win over league leaders Hillhead 6th XI. They are now equal on points with Strathclyde University 2nd XI, in that all important last spot before the split. Ayr 2nd XI moved off the foot of the table with a 2-0 win over Kelburne 4th XI.

Division four rounded off a good season with the title going to Clydesdale 5th XI. They had an impressive 7-1 victory over Helensburgh with four different goal scorers contributing to the result. Robbie Dewars two goals helped move him to top of the goal scoring charts in the division. Western 5th XI finish second after a 2-1 victory over Hillhead 7th XI. Dumfries 2nd XI did gain a point at home to Giffnock 2nd XI, but they finish in fifth. One rearranged game still to come see’s Western 5th XI host Helensburgh 3rd XI, but the game won’t have an impact on the final standings.
