Another important weekend awaits across the West District leagues, with crucial points on offer at both ends of the tables. Promotion hopes, relegation battles and unbeaten records are all on the line as the season begins to edge towards its closing stages.
Division 1 – Pressure Building Across the Table

The opening fixture in Division 1 sees Hillhead 5th XI host Giffnock at Old Anniesland (12:30). Both sides will be eager to respond after defeats last weekend, with Hillhead slipping into the relegation zone and in need of a quick turnaround to climb back out of danger.
At the Glasgow National Hockey Centre (14:20), Rottenrow welcome Clydesdale 4th XI. Sitting third in the table, Rottenrow remain outsiders in the title conversation, though time is beginning to run short for a late surge. Clydesdale meanwhile will be targeting valuable points to open up daylight between themselves and the bottom places.
A significant mid-table clash takes place at the ON-X (15:10) as Kelburne 3rd XI host Helensburgh. Both sides secured important victories last weekend to ease immediate relegation concerns, but with only two points separating Kelburne from the drop zone, the hosts will know another result could prove vital.
Elsewhere, Hillhead 4th XI travel to Titwood to face Clydesdale 3rd XI, while league leaders Western 3rd XI are in Sunday action as they visit Glasgow University 3rd XI.
Division 2 – Can Anyone Stop Uddingston?

Attention turns to Balgray where Hillhead 6th XI host Kelburne 4th XI at 14:30. Kelburne will be hoping for a stronger showing after a difficult outing last weekend, with points needed to move further clear of the relegation picture. Hillhead, meanwhile, sit comfortably in mid-table and will be aiming to maintain momentum.
One of the weekend’s most intriguing fixtures takes place in Uddingston as the club’s 3rd XI face their own 4th XI. The league leaders remain unbeaten so far this season, but local familiarity could make this a far tougher test than league positions might suggest.
Further down the table, Western 4th XI host Strathclyde University 2nd XI in what could prove a key encounter in the relegation battle. Elsewhere, Ayr welcome Greenock 2nd XI at Doonside, while Rottenrow 2nd XI make the long trip south to face Dumfries on Sunday.
Division 3 – Busy Weekend Ahead

Division 3 features a busy schedule, particularly for Dumfries 2nd XI and Rottenrow 3rd XI, who both face double-header weekends.
Dumfries begin their weekend away to Anchor at the ON-X with a 12:00 pushback on Saturday. Anchor ended a difficult run of form with an important victory last weekend and will be hoping that result sparks a return to consistency.
Rottenrow 3rd XI also start at home on Saturday as they welcome Giffnock to the National Hockey Centre before travelling south the following day to face Dumfries.
Elsewhere, third-placed Hillhead 8th XI host Helensburgh 2nd XI in a 13:00 pushback that could have implications near the top half of the table, while the final fixture sees Clydesdale 6th XI take on Uddingston 5th XI at Titwood.
