The semi-finals of the George Black Trophy and the West District Plate are here!

The quarter finals of the George Black Trophy were fairly one sided for the two division one sides that had lower league opponents, as they made it to the next round. There were two all division one clashes though. Hillhead A overcame GHK comfortably at the High School of Glasgow, whereas Clydesdale A defeated Rottenrow 5-1 in a game that perhaps doesn’t follow league form. The semi-finals take place tonight, as District Champions Western 3rd XI travel to Titwood to play Clydesdale A. Helensburgh host Hillhead A at Hermitage Academy.

In the plate, Giffnock gained a couple of impressive wins, defeating Hillhead D in the preliminary round before overcoming Clydesdale B. They take on Kelburne 4th XI in one of the semi-finals. Kelburne 4th XI were involved in goal frenzy in their quarter final game down in Ayr. An 8-5 victory saw them move to the semi-finals. On the other side of the draw, Dumfries, who are struggling for league form, have progressed to the plate final already, with wins over Hillhead B and Hillhead C. They’ll finally play a different club in the final, after three knockout ties against Hillhead throughout the season.

The two finals are set to take place at Auchenhowie on the 27th April.
