It’s tight at the bottom too, as the District Leagues move towards the last few games.

In division one, Rottenrow had a good away win in Dumfries to keep them top of the district. Five different goal scorers got on the card for the ‘row as they beat Dumfries 5-1. Sadly, for Dumfries it’s the opposite, as they state relegation down, having struggled to find a win all season. Hillhead 3rd XI have remained in third after they thrashed Helensburgh 6-0 with an impressive performance. Helensburgh remain tied on points with GHK and Uddingston 3rd XI, both of whom lost at the weekend The bottom four sides all have games against each other coming up, so it is all to play for. Western 3rd XI won 3-0 at Clydesdale 3rd XI.

 

Kelburne 3rd XI moved a step closer to the division two title with a confident 7-4 victory over Hillhead 5. The win extends their unbeaten run to eight games, and they move four points clear of second placed Western 4th XI, who tasted defeat on Saturday at the hands of Glasgow University 3rd XI. In third place, Ayr fell to another draw, making it three draws in a row. Uddingston 4th XI were in the lead at half time, down in Ayrshire, but the home side clawed one back in the second half to gain a point. Elsewhere, Clydesdale 4th XI just managed to squeeze a 3-2 win over Helensburgh.

 

The top of division three remains open, as Hillhead 6th XI drew 2-2 with Kelburne 4th XI. Second half goals from Sam Brett and Thomas Hall were all Hillhead could manage meaning a sharing of the points with Kelburne. Greenock 2nd XI kept hot on the tails of the league leaders with a gutsy 1-0 defeat over an experienced Uddingston 5th XI.

 

Division four saw a very dominant display from Western 5th XI, who put nine past a young Dumfries 2nd XI. With a game in hand over Clydesdale 5th XI, the division four title could swing Westerns way. However, Clydesdale kept up the pressure, with a 4-1 win over Giffnock 2nd XI, which leaves them top for now. The other game saw Hillhead 7th XI overcome Helensburgh 3rd XI.
