Let’s look at Saturdays fixtures as we edge closer to the end of the season.

A number of division one sides are in Scottish Cup action this weekend which leaves Rottenrow the chance to go top of the table. They host Giffnock at the National Hockey Centre in what could prove to be an exciting game. The two played out a 5-5 draw earlier in the season. It could be a big day at the bottom of the table, as the four bottom placed sides play each other. Helensburgh host Dumfries as ninth plays tenth. The two drew 1-1 in Dumfries, so both will be keen on a better result going into this game. GHK and Uddingston 3rd XI complete the fixtures.

In division two, second host fourth, as Western 4th XI take on Clydesdale 4th XI. The two sides, who will be competing for a promotion spot drew 3-3 earlier in the season. This game could go either way. Elsewhere, Glasgow University 3rd XI will be keen to get their promotion hopes back alive, after a run of three games without a win. They welcome Uddingston 4th XI to Garscube. The other game see’s Hillhead 5th XI travel to Rottenrow 2nd XI.

After last week’s emphatic win, Anchor will be hoping for a repeat as they take on Uddingston 5th XI at ON-X. League leaders Hillhead 6th XI will travel to Stepps to take on Strathclyde University 2nd XI. The students have faltered of late after a strong start to the season, but they will remain hopeful of a promotion spot come the end of the season. The other game see’s Greenock 2nd XI host Kelburne 4th XI.

The bottom division has all six teams in action. Helensburgh 3rd XI will be hoping home advantage will help see them get the three points against travelling Dumfries 2nd XI. In form side Clydesdale 5th XI, who haven’t lost in eight games travel to Hillhead 7th XI and should keep up their promotion hopes with three points here. The other game has Giffnock 2nd XI hosting Western 5th XI.
