As we approach the winter break, the matches are coming thick and fast.

Division 1 has a few cracking games on offer. The only west district side to have an 100%-win record, Western 3rd XI, travel to the National Hockey Centre to take on an in form Rottenrow team. Stopping Western won’t be easy however, with 40 goals scored and only 2 conceded, Rottenrow have a tough game ahead. Elsewhere, unbeaten Giffnock will take on title challengers Hillhead 3rd XI. They’ll need the scoring prowess of the league top scorer Andrew Barnett if they are to get anything from this game. At the other end of the table, two winless sides come head-to-head down in Dumfries. Dumfries host GHK in what could be an early season relegation fight. The other games see Helensburgh travel to Clydesdale 3rd XI and Uddingston 3rd XI host Hillhead 4th XI.

There’s a top of the table clash in division 2, as Uddingston 4th XI take on Rottenrow 2nd XI. The two sides sit in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Another top clash could be the game between Kelburne 3rd XI and Glasgow University 2nd XI. Both sides were relegated from division 1 last season and will be looking to bounce straight back up this year. Helensburgh 2nd XI host Western 4th XI whilst the other game sees Ayr travel to Hillhead 5th XI.

Strathclyde University 2nd XI will be hoping to get back to winning ways after a shock defeat last week. They host Uddingston 5th XI, and a win would see them move to the top spot in division 3. Elsewhere, Kelburne 4th XI will be travelling to Ayr 2nd XI and Anchor host Greenock 2nd XI.

Just the two games in division 4 see’s league leaders Western 5th XI play at Eastwood High School, against Giffnock 2nd XI. Clydesdale 5th XI had an impressive victory over the league leaders last week and this week will be hoping to continue with a win against Hillhead 7th XI.
