It’s the last official weekend of league hockey this year, and theres a couple derbies to look forward too!

The big match in division one this weekend is at Titwood as both Clydesdale sides face each other. The 3rd XI have the better league position but the 4th XI are in better form. Who will win this intraclub derby? Hillhead 4th XI host Rottenrow at Old Anniesland, as third take on second. The two sides are both in good form, with Rottenrows Chris Millar set to be a key player having scored four in his last game. Elsewhere, Kelburne 3rd XI will be keen to get some points on the board as they take on Hillhead 5th XI, who sit near them at the lower end of the table. The other match see’s Glasgow University 3rd XI host Giffnock.

Uddingston 3rd XI could go into the winter break without dropping points, as they take on Kelburne 4th XI at the ON-X on Saturday. The two sides are at opposite ends of the division, but Kelburne picked up a vital three points last week and will be keen to push on. GHK sit in third in the division and host fifth placed Dumfries at Old Anniesland. It should be a close game, with both sides scoring well. Elsewhere, Hillhead 6th XI will come up against Rottenrow 2nd XI, who have been performing well this season, but will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat last weekend. Ayr travel through to Uddingston to take on their 4th XI.

Another derby in division three, and it’s Hillhead’s turn. The 8th XI host the 7th XI in what should be competitive match. Hillhead 8th XI sit above the 7th XI in the table, so there will be plenty of pride to play for in this match. Clydesdale 5th XI welcome Giffnock 2nd XI to Titwood and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run. Finlay Dunlop will be crucial for Clydesdale. Helensburgh 2nd XI are back in action this weekend, as they host Uddingston 5th XI at Hermitage Academy. It’ll be a tough test for Helensburgh though, as Uddingston occupy second place in the division and look strong. The other match see’s Clydesdale 6th XI travel to Anchor.
