The official final weekend of the season is upon us with promotion and relegations still to be decided across the divisions. Who will it be?

Division one champions, and thus West District Champions, could be decided tomorrow with Western 3rd XI needing a win against opponents Giffnock. They host them at Auchenhowie, and considering they have yet to lose this season, it’d be difficult to suggest anything other than a home win. Giffnock have been a tricky side for many of the top of table sides this season, however, and won’t make it easy. Will they be dancing in the streets of Bearsden and Milngavie on Saturday night? Hillhead 3rd XI will hope not, as they still have an outside chance of claiming the title. They will need a favour from Giffnock however and will need to ensure they get the three points against Rottenrow at the High School of Glasgow. The two sides drew when they met earlier in the season. At the other end of the table, relegation is still up for debate. All four teams at the bottom could survive the drop but points are crucial. Two sides meet each other this weekend, as Helensburgh travel through to take on Uddingston 3rd XI. A win for either side will surely mean safety, whilst a loss could spell the end. Dumfries must get something from Hillhead 4th XI to avoid the drop, and then again on Sunday as they host Uddingston. GHK take on Clydesdale 3rd XI in the other fixture.

Division two have already got their champions in Kelburne 3rd XI. They beat Helensburgh 2nd XI in Glasgow, last weekend, which confirmed Helensburgh’s relegation, and the two meet again tomorrow in Helensburgh. One undecided factor of division two is the second promotion spot, however. And it could go right down to the wire as Western 4th XI and Ayr both sit on thirty points and must play each other. However, Ayr travel to Glasgow University 3rd XI tomorrow in the hope of three points. The Uni’ side could pull a surprise out the bag, however, as they can still gain promotion themselves, with a little help from others. They’ll be going all out for the win to keep that dream alive. Elsewhere, Rottenrow 2nd XI host Clydesdale 4th XI and Hillhead 5th XI travel to Uddingston 4th XI.

The split has occurred in division three, with promotion and relegation still to be decided. Four points separate first and fourth spot, with Hillhead 6th XI occupying that top spot. They host Greenock 2nd XI in Glasgow. The other game sees Kelburne 4th XI host Anchor with plenty to play for all top four sides. At the bottom, Strathclyde University 2nd XI take on Uddingston 5th XI.
