With important games at the top and bottom of the divisions, it could be a critical weekend of hockey for the West.

Division one has a massive game pushing back at Auchenhowie, as Western 3rd XI host Rottenrow. After a midweek victory over Hillhead 3rd XI, Western moved back to the top of the table, but only one-point separates them and Rottenrow. This could be a title decider. The last time the two sides met was the only time Western dropped points this season, so it’s set to be an excellent game. At the other end of the table, a big game takes place between GHK and Dumfries. The two sides meet at the High School of Glasgow, knowing that three points could be vital to survival in the top division. It was draw between the sides in Dumfries, so this one is also set up to be a cracker. The other games see Helensburgh host Clydesdale 3rd XI, Uddingston 3rd XI head to Hillhead 4th XI and Giffnock welcome Hillhead 3rd XI.

In division two, the two relegated sides from last season’s division one come head-to-head at Garscube. A win for Kelburne 3rd XI could confirm promotion back to the top, but other results would need to go their way. It has been a contrasting season for Glasgow University 3rd XI, who still have faint hopes of promotion, but will need to string together a number of top results to be in with a chance. Third placed Ayr are still in with a chance of promotion as they welcome Hillhead 5th XI down the coast. They are the form team in the league now, having not lost in eight, but Hillhead will be a tricky opponent. The other game has Rottenrow 2nd XI hosting Uddingston 4th XI.

Division three has no games this weekend as they prepare for the split but division four has a full calendar. The singular promotion spot in division four is a fight between Clydesdale 5th XI and Western 5th XI and the two meet at Titwood tomorrow, knowing the three points could see them bring home the title. Hillhead 7th XI make the long trip down to Dumfries, whilst Helensburgh 3rd XI go to Giffnock 2nd XI.
