It was another lively weekend across the West District leagues with plenty of goals, important results at both ends of the tables, and title races continuing to take shape.


Division 1

League leaders Western 3rd XI continued their relentless march towards the title with an emphatic 11–0 victory over Clydesdale 3rd XI, maintaining their dominant form.

There was another goal-filled encounter involving Helensburgh, who were part of an eight-goal thriller, eventually falling 5–3 to Hillhead 4th XI.

At the other end of the table, Clydesdale 4th XI picked up a crucial result in the relegation battle, defeating Kelburne 3rd XI 6–2 to give themselves some valuable breathing space.


Division 2

Uddingston 3rd XI remain unbeaten at the top of the table after a convincing 7–0 win over Hillhead 6th XI, continuing their impressive campaign.

Dumfries recorded their biggest away win of the season, also winning 7–0, as they swept aside Western 4th XI.

Meanwhile, GHK kept the pressure on the league leaders with a 5–2 victory over Greenock 2nd XI, while Rottenrow 2nd XI also enjoyed a strong afternoon, defeating Ayr 6–1.


Division 3

Giffnock 2nd XI secured a solid 6–2 win over Helensburgh 2nd XI to strengthen their position in the division.

Title hopefuls Clydesdale 5th XI moved a step closer to the championship with a commanding 10–0 victory over Hillhead 8th XI on Sunday.

Hillhead had better fortunes the day before, defeating Anchor 2–0, while Clydesdale 6th XI edged a tight encounter with a 1–0 win away at Dumfries 2nd XI.

Elsewhere, Rottenrow 3rd XI continued their good run of form with a 2–1 victory over Hillhead 7th XI.
