The Men’s West District fixtures have been released ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Division One is poised for an engaging season, as competing teams vie for the title of district champions. This year, three new teams join the division: Clydesdale 4th XI, Hillhead 5th XI, and Glasgow University 3rd XI, all of whom secured promotion from Division Two last season. Clydesdale 4th XI will face a challenging opening fixture as they host current division holders Western 3rd XI. On the first day, Hillhead 5th XI will travel to Helensburgh, while Glasgow University 3rd XI begins their campaign against Hillhead 4th XI in the following weeks.

Clydesdale 3rd XI aims to be strong contenders again this season, seeking to secure the championship after narrowly missing out to Western 3rd XI last year; they have not held the title for eight years. Their season commences with an away fixture at Giffnock. Rottenrow also aspire to achieve league success after falling short towards the end of last season and will play Kelburne 3rd XI at home on the opening day.

Division Two presents a refreshed lineup this season, featuring eleven teams competing for division honours and the two available promotion spots. The division welcomes five new teams alongside six returning from the previous campaign. Uddingston 3rd XI and Western 4th XI, having been relegated from Division One, are expected to be strong contenders as they seek immediate promotion back to the top tier; notably, these two sides will face each other on the opening day. Three teams have advanced from Division Three: Kelburne 4th XI, Strathclyde University 2nd XI, and Hillhead 6th XI, all of whom now compete at the second division level.

Kelburne 4th XI commence their season with an away match against Dumfries, while Hillhead 6th XI begins by hosting Greenock 2nd XI. Strathclyde University 2nd XI will start their campaign a week later, with an away fixture against Rottenrow 2nd XI. In other matchups, Ayr versus GHK is anticipated to be a compelling contest, as both aim for promotion. Uddingston 4th XI also open their season against Rottenrow 2nd XI.

Division Three features a new structure this year as Division Three and Four have merged to form a competitive twelve-team league. Notably, Clydesdale will field a 6th XI, while Hillhead introduces their 9th XI to contend for the two promotion places. Among the promotion favourites, Anchor commences their campaign at home against Hillhead 8th XI. Clydesdale 5th XI, aiming for a second successive promotion, will host their club counterparts, the 6th XI, on the opening day. Uddingston 5th XI will also compete for top honours, beginning with a fixture against Hillhead 9th XI. Helensburgh’s 2nd and 3rd XIs will play host to Dumfries’ respective 2nd and 3rd XIs. The final opening day match sees Giffnock 2nd XI hosting Hillhead 7th XI.

14th September cannot come soon enough!
