The second half of the season is upon us. But let’s see where we’re at as we approach match 10.

Division 3 has had the most difficulty with weather and other postponements, meaning that the bottom two sides, Anchor and Ayr 2nd XI, have only played the three games each. But with plenty time still to go, the final table is nowhere near finished.

At the top of the table are Hillhead 6th XI (a division 4 side last season). They are one of only two West District teams to remain unbeaten all season. And just behind them, in third, are Greenock 2nd XI (also a division 4 side last season). The two promoted sides have taken to division 3 well and have set themselves up for a positive second half of the season. Of the relegated sides, Strathclyde University 2nd XI will remain optimistic that they can bounce straight back up. They currently sit in second, but with a couple of games in hand, they’ll be keen to get back to the top of the table.

Kelburne 4th XI have had an up and down first half of the season but will be keen to push on. Experienced striker Don Tervitt has been doing his bit to keep the side going, leading the division scoring charts. The other side in the division, Uddingston 5th XI, sit in fifth place.
