Their were some important wins at the top of divisions two and three this weekend.

A close game at Old Anniesland in division one saw Hillhead 4th XI beat Giffnock 3-0. The two sides were evenly matched but it seemed Hillhead brought there scoring sticks, compared to Giffnock. The win moves Hillhead up into third place in the league. Rottenrow had a convincing win, with Chris Lawson bagging four goals against Hillhead 5th XI, which keeps them on track for a title challenge. However, Western 3rd XI keep winning and did so again at the weekend with a 5-1 win over Kelburne 3rd XI. The other match, at the foot of the table, saw Clydesdale 4th XI get an impressive win over Glasgow University 3rd XI.

The big match in division two was between Rottenrow 2nd XI and Uddingston 3rd XI. It was Uddingston who struck first, taking a 2-0 lead into half time. Rottenrow did get one back, but tempers flared as the game wore on and it was Uddingston who maintained the cool, with another three goals in the second half. A crucial match at the bottom saw Billy Anderson rolling back the years, scoring the only goal in an important win for Kelburne 4th XI, against Ayr. The win gives Kelburne there first points this season and crucially moves them off the bottom of the table. It was a tight affair in Glasgow between Hillhead 6th XI and Dumfries. The two sides went in 1-1 at half time and couldn’t be separated as the match finished 3-3. A hat-trick for Syd Davison helped GHK overcome Western 4th XI whilst Uddingston 4th XI edged the victory over Strathclyde University 2nd XI.

The important match in division three between Clydesdale 5th XI and Rottenrow 3rd XI ended in a fairly one-sided game. Clydesdale seem unstoppable and with Finlay Dunlop scoring the goals, who can stop them? He got himself a couple in Clydesdales 7-2 defeat of Rottenrow. Uddingston 5th XI won convincingly against a young and improving Dumfries 2nd XI. Josh Cairns got himself a hat-trick; and an Ollie Hamilton hat-trick was enough to help Hillhead 8th XI over the line against Clydesdale 6th XI.
