West District notes information being circulated by several Governing Bodies with regard to a current Scottish Government consultation on fees for PVG checks. These checks are currently free for sports volunteers (when organised through the Governing Body) but the proposal is to implement a charge. It is felt that this could have a detrimental impact on the development of youth sport in particular.
