Two out of four district division could be decided tomorrow!

There’s plenty to play for in division one, as we approach the last few games. The trophies destiny is in Western 3rd XI’s hands as they remain unbeaten and know that a win over Helensburgh will bring them a step closer to district champions. Chasing them are both Rottenrow and Hillhead 3rd XI, but they’d need Western to slip up to be in with a chance. Rottenrow host Hillhead 4th XI tomorrow, at the National Hockey Centre, whilst Hillhead 3rd XI head to Uddingston. Form would suggest that both sides should win but these things don’t always go with form. At the other end of the table, Dumfries know that every game is a cup final for them as they stare relegation down. They welcome Clydesdale to town, hoping that home advantage is what helps them finally gain a win. GHK travel to Giffnock knowing three points should be enough to see them to safety.

Kelburne 3rd XI will be division two champions tomorrow if they can defeat Rottenrow 2nd XI. Rottenrow are in good form in the division, but Kelburnes form is unmatched, having not lost in nine consecutive games. The other promotion spot in division two is hotly contested between Ayr and Western 4th XI, and the two sides meet tomorrow in Ayrshire. This could be a massive game for both sides as they look to grab that second spot. Western hold the cards, however, as they have a game in hand over Ayr, despite both sides being tied on thirty points. At the other end of the table, it’s now or never for Helensburgh 2nd XI, who know they need to start picking up points if they want to stay in division two. They travel to Glasgow University 3rd XI knowing they’ll be in for a tough game. The other match see’s Clydesdale 4th XI take on Uddingston 4th XI.

The only division three game see’s Anchor host Hillhead 6th XI. Anchor will be hoping to gain a much-needed win to push them into the top half of the table before the split.

It’s the final weekend in division four and a win for Clydesdale 5th XI will bring silverware back to Titwood. It should be a simple victory, as they take on bottom side Helensburgh 3rd XI, but the young Helensburgh side got a vital win last week and will be encouraged by that. On Clydesdale’s tails, and hoping for a Helensburgh win, will be Western 5th XI. They host Hillhead 7th XI and know they cannot slip up if they wish to take home the title. Elsewhere, Dumfries 2nd XI host Giffnock 2nd XI.
