It was another decisive weekend of West District hockey, with titles secured, promotion places confirmed and plenty of goals across all three divisions.

Division 2 – Promotion Picture Tightens

The promotion race remains finely balanced as GHK kept their hopes alive with a narrow 1–0 win over Western 4th XI, courtesy of a strike from Danny Norwood.

Dumfries continued their strong end-of-season form, moving firmly into contention with a 6–1 win over Hillhead 6th XI, with Freddie Brown grabbing a hat-trick.

At the bottom of the table, Ayr picked up a vital 4–2 victory over Kelburne 4th XI, while Uddingston 4th XI secured a solid 3–0 away win against Strathclyde University 2nd XI.

Division 3 – Title Secured and Promotion Confirmed

Clydesdale 5th XI were crowned Division 3 champions after a convincing 5–1 win over second-placed Rottenrow 3rd XI, with Ollie McLellan scoring a hat-trick to seal the title.

Despite the defeat, Rottenrow 3rd XI bounced back in style on Sunday with a 5–2 win over Helensburgh 2nd XI, confirming their promotion to Division 2 next season.

There was also a landmark moment for Dumfries 2nd XI, who recorded their first win of the season, edging Uddingston 5th XI 1–0 thanks to a goal from Iain Callander.

Elsewhere, Hillhead 8th XI secured a 2–0 away win at Clydesdale 6th XI, while Giffnock 2nd XI defeated Anchor 4–2.

Another huge weekend with silverware decided and promotion battles going right down to the wire.
