All the teams at the top of their respective leagues continued the form with big wins this weekend.

 

Western 3rd XI remains top of division one after they overcame last season’s champions Uddingston 3rd XI 6-1 at Auchenhowie. A hat-trick from Ross McGuiness was the highlight of Rottenrows 7-2 thrashing of Clydesdale 3rd XI as they kept the pressure on Western at the top. At the other end of the table, it was a big win for GHK as they overcame Helensburgh 5-0 at the High School of Glasgow. Syd Davison scoring the pick of the goals.

Kelburne 3rd XI extended their unbeaten run to six games as they defeated Uddingston 4th XI 7-2. Second placed Western 4th XI overcame Hillhead 5th XI but Ayr were held to a 2-2 draw in Glasgow by Rottenrow 2nd XI. Kelburne have pulled away in recent weeks with a four-point gap now between them and second. Western, in second, are also four points clear of third placed Ayr.

The result of the weekend must be Anchors 9-0 defeat of Strathclyde University 2nd XI. The returning captain Robert White clearly making the difference for the Linwood side as they thrashed the students at Stepps playing field. Kelburne 4th XI snatched a draw away at Uddingston 5th XI, which leaves them in contention for a promotion spot out of Division three – with the split occurring in mid-March.

Clydesdale 5th XI remained top of division four, as they overcame Dumfries 2nd XI 2-0. Finlay Dunlop and Robbie Dewar getting the two goals for Clydesdale. Hillhead 7th XI also won by two goals to nil, as they beat Giffnock 2nd XI. And second placed Western 5th XI managed a comfortable win over bottom side Helensburgh 3rd XI.
