The top two in division two and three are all playing each other this weekend. Expect some exciting hockey!
Four games in division one this weekend, with an exciting clash at Old Anniesland. Hillhead 4th XI and Giffnock sit one point apart in the league and both have had good starts to the season. This match could be end-to-end as the two meet at 14:00. It’s a top vs. bottom clash with unbeaten Western 3rd XI taking on winless Kelburne 3rd XI. The two rival clubs have played in many matches over the years that have decided championships and relegations. This one could be tasty. Another close match up should be the clash between Glasgow University 3rd XI and Clydesdale 4th XI. The game, at Titwood, will be important for both sides who are aiming to maintain division one status next season, with only a point separating them currently. Elsewhere, Rottenrow take on Hillhead 5th XI at the National Hockey Centre.

The big match in division two see’s first placed Uddingston 3rd XI travel to second placed Rottenrow 2nd XI. The winner of this match will end the day in top spot. Uddingston have the better scoring record, with Finlay McFarlane and Oscar Lochrin both on the division two scoring charts, but Rottenrow remain unbeaten at the National Hockey Centre this season. Another exciting match could be the game between Dumfries and Hillhead 6th XI. Both are equal on points, with Dumfries edging it on goal difference. Hillhead must travel to the King George V playing fields, however, with the home tie often giving Dumfries the edge. Elsewhere, third placed GHK will be hoping for three points away at Western 4th XI; likewise, Uddingston 4th XI host Strathclyde University 2nd XI, in a upper vs. lower table clash. Kelburne 4th XI could get their first points of the season as they host Ayr at the ON-X on Saturday. The two sides have struggled to get going this season but tomorrow could be a chance for some vital points.
Another top of the table match in division three involving Rottenrow. This time, the 3rd XI travel to Clydesdale 5th XI for an important match. Clydesdale are unbeaten this season, and in fact, went unbeaten all of last season, so it could be a tough ask for Rottenrow. However, the new side have been a revelation this season, looking strong at every turn. The other new side, Clydesdale 6th XI, travel to Hillhead 8th XI on Saturday. Both teams will be looking to build up some form after wins last week. The other match see’s Dumfries 2nd XI travel to Uddingston 5th XI. Dumfries have struggled for form this season and come up against an experienced Uddingston side.
