A full fixture card was played at the weekend and there was some interesting results.

In division one, it was a tight game at Balgray as Hillhead 5th XI managed to hold on to a 3-2 victory over Helensburgh. The Glasgow side went 3-0 up, with Helensburgh managing to bring it back to 3-2 but failing to get the elusive equaliser. Western 3rd XI remained unbeaten with a comfortable win over Clydesdale 4th XI. Grant Hood scored a double in a 4-0 victory for Rottenrow over Kelburne 3rd XI. Elsewhere, Hillhead 4th XI defeated Glasgow University 3rd XI comfortably and Clydesdale 3rd XI had a resounding 9-1 win against Giffnock.

 

Uddingston 3rd XI extended their lead at the top of division two after a comfortable 4-1 win away in Dumfries. Neil Macey continued his scoring form with two, in a 8-1 win for Hillhead 6th XI over Ayr. The win moves Hillhead into third place, after Rottenrow 2nd XI fell to a 1-0 defeat against Strathclyde University 2nd XI. The other match saw Greenock 2nd XI defeat Western 4th XI.

A Dayle Hartopp double was enough for Helensburgh 2nd XI to see off Clydesdale 6th XI in a 2-1 win that saw them leapfrog their opponents. Clydesdale 5th XI remain firmly in charge of the third division with a 10-0 demolition of Hillhead 7th XI. Hillhead 8th XI had six different goalscorers in their 6-0 win over Dumfries, whilst Rottenrow 3rd XI kept the pressure on the promotion fight with a 2-0 win over Anchor. Uddingston 5th XI and Giffnock 2nd XI both had chances for victory on Saturday, but neither managed to get the important winning goal as it finished 3-3.
