It was the first weekend back to outdoor hockey for the West District. Let’s take a look at the results!

The game of the weekend in the first division was undoubtedly GHK against Hillhead 3rd XI. Second top against second bottom, but the GHK team fought valiantly to earn an excellent 3-3 draw that sees them move out of the relegation zone. Hillhead 3rd XI were ahead in the first half before GHK got back into the game and took the lead through Gary Mitchell. However, a late Hillhead goal saw the scores finish even. Elsewhere, there were big wins for Hillhead 4th XI, and Rottenrow, who move into second place.

In divison two, the two top of the table clashes were the highlight. League leaders Kelburne 3rd XI continued to show their form with a 4-1 victory over Western 4th XI. Ayr moved into second place with 4-0 victory against Clydesdale 4th XI. However, the biggest result of the weekend saw Helensburgh 2nd XI clinch a last minute winner over Hillhead 5th XI. The side languishing in 9th place scored with a Thomas Harris goal, right at the death, to take all three points.

Division three also had a top of the table clash, as Greenock 2nd XI hosted Hillhead 6th XI. The home side managed a reasonably comforable 4-0 victory that sees them move to with two points of top spot with a game in hand. It also sees Hillhead lose for the first time this season. The other game saw a big scoreline for Uddingston 5th XI, as they beat Ayr 2nd XI 6-1.
