It’s the final weekend before the winter break, as teams prepare for the indoor season. Let’s take a look at what’s in store.

There’s a massive game in division 1, as the two unbeaten sides compete against one another. Giffnock host Western 3 at Eastwood High School this weekend. Western will go into the game full of confidence, given they sit top of the league, but Giffnock are not afraid to go up against the big teams in the league. They’ll be relying on the goal threat of division top scorer Andrew Barnett if they are to get anything from this game. Another big tie sees Rottenrow host Hillhead 3. The two sides sit in 2nd and 4th respectively and will be looking to gain a valuable three points before the winter break. Elsewhere, Dumfries host Hillhead 4, Uddingston 3 travel to Helensburgh and GHK take on Clydesdale 3.

It’s a tight division 2 this year with only five points separating 2nd from 8th. Ayr host Glasgow University 3, with both sides having hopes of promotion, the three points could be important come the end of the season. Hillhead 5th XI take on Uddingston 4th XI, with the two sides locked on 12 points each, occupying mid-table. Uddingston can thank the goals of Martin Lorimer for their current league form. They’ll be hoping for more from him tomorrow. The other ties see Clydesdale 4 at home versus Rottenrow 2, and Stepps 2 travel to Auchenhowie to play Western 4.

Division 3 has league leaders Hillhead 6 taking on Kelburne 4 at the High School of Glasgow pitch. Hillhead remain unbeaten so far this season but Kelburne have been a tough team to beat. Challengers Strathclyde University 2 host Ayr 2 tomorrow, as the students look to build some momentum into their season, hoping for promotion back to division 2. The other tie sees Uddingston 5 take on Greenock 2.

The only division 4 tie has 4th against 3rd, as Hillhead 7 host Clydesdale 5. Clydesdale are the in form team in the division and could be a tough nut to crack for Hillhead, but the experienced Hillhead side will be buoyed after an impressive 1 – 0 victory over the league leaders last weekend.
