With the September weekend upon us, it’s a reduced fixture card this week.

Division three holds some exciting fixtures. Kelburne 4th XI are so far unbeaten and will come up against a new look Helensburgh 2nd XI. The Helensburgh side came down from division two last season and will be looking to start the season well in a bid to finish near the top again. Likewise, Kelburne, who finished third last year, will be aiming for the top of the table. Western 5th XI has their second game of the campaign, as they welcome Anchor to Auchenhowie. Anchor, who have a fiery start to the season, will be hoping that their experience can overcome the youthful skill of the Western side. The other game sees Uddingston 5th XI head to the Strathclyde University playing fields to take on Strathclyde University 2nd XI. The Uni. side will be keen to show their prowess this season, with an aim of promotion surely being the goal.

 

In division four, Dumfries 3rd XI have their first away trip of their season as they head to Hillhead 7th XI for their game. They had a strong win last week, defeating Dumfries 2nd XI and will be buoyed by that going into this game. Opposite them, Hillhead 7th XI will be hoping home advantage can help them get through this match, as the experienced side look to bounce back after a poor defeat to their youngsters from Hillhead 8th XI. Helensburgh 3rd XI have the long trip south to take on Dumfries 2nd XI, in Dumfries. Dumfries had the share of the wins last season, as they won two out of three against Helensburgh. They will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s 6-3 victory, at home. Elsewhere, Giffnock 2nd XI head to Titwood, to take on Clydesdale 5th XI. Giffnock will be looking to get their first points on the board after an opening day defeat, whilst Clydesdale had a remarkable victory away in Dumfries on their opening game.
